Fulbright-Nehru Master's Fellowships are available for Indian students to study in the United States. To be eligible, you must have a GPA of 3.5 or higher and have completed at least one year of your undergraduate degree in India.

If you receive this fellowship, you will receive $22,000 per semester (or $44,000 total) through either Stanford University or New York University.

Fulbright-Nehru Academic and Professional Excellence Fellowships.

This program is a one-year fellowship in the United States, for postgraduate study and research. The program is open to full-time graduate students from India who are enrolled in an Indian institution of higher learning and have a good academic record.

The Fulbright-Nehru Program offers opportunities for students who have completed their first degree to undertake a master's or doctoral degree at eligible US institutions of higher learning.

Fellowships are awarded annually on the basis of merit and need, taking into account the applicant’s current financial status, family responsibilities and other relevant factors.

S. N. Bose Scholars Program for Post-Doctoral Research.

The S. N. Bose Scholars Program for Post-Doctoral Research is a unique opportunity to conduct research at one of the world's leading institutions in the field of theoretical physics and mathematics, The Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR).

The program offers a stipend of INR 1 lakh per month for up to three years for pursuing your own research project under supervision of one or more faculty members at TIFR and access to state-of-the-art facilities at TIFR laboratories. The position is open to all nationalities except Indians as we have very few vacancies.

Eligibility: Applicants should hold PhD awarded on or after January 1, 2016 from an accredited institution with excellent academic performance (minimum 3 years spent in obtaining PhD) and be willing to work full time in India during the duration of their appointment; They must also possess excellent communication skills both written and oral English language proficiency

NIAS-UNIDO Fellowship.

  • What is the scholarship for?

  • The NIAS-UNIDO Fellowship aims to provide financial help to Indian students who want to pursue a PhD degree in the field of sustainable development and energy at a university in the USA.

  • How much does it pay?

  • The fellowship pays:

  • $34,000 per annum for three years during your PhD studies (subject to renewal). This includes an annual research allowance of USD 5,000 and health insurance coverage up to USD 15,000 annually.

  • USD 3,500 per month (for nine months) during your first year at NIAS after completing your coursework, which may be renewed subject to satisfactory progress. The Short Term Fellowships are intended to provide opportunities for young researchers to spend a period of time in the U.S. to work with a host laboratory or institution. The duration of the Short Term Fellowship is one to three months, depending on the needs of both organizations and individuals concerned. This program offers a unique opportunity for researchers from developing countries who wish to pursue their research careers at U.S. institutions, but who lack substantial financial resources or sufficient research experience to undertake more expensive programs such as longer fellowship awards offered by the Fulbright-Hays program or postdoctoral training grants given by NIH and NSF
