The University of Toronto is a public research university in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It is one of the oldest universities in Canada, founded by royal charter in 1827 as King's College, the first institution of higher learning in Upper Canada. The university comprises the Faculty of Arts and Science and the Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering, with the Faculties of Dentistry, Medicine, Law, Nursing, and Social Work.

4. The Faculty of Science


The Faculty of Science is a division of the Faculty of Arts & Science, which is the university’s largest faculty. The Faculty of Science is divided into five schools and offers more than 250 undergraduate and graduate programs.
