Introduction

The University of Malaya (UM) is offering a scholarship to Malaysian students who applied to their master’s program by research (M.Sc) or doctoral programs (PhD). The scholarship will be given for a maximum period of three years and ten months with no renewable condition.

Scientific research skills in the following fields:

  • Environmental science

  • Food science

  • Medicine and pharmacy, including neurosciences and psychiatry.

  • Health sciences, including nutrition and public health.

  • Life sciences, such as biology, microbiology, biochemistry and cell biology.

  • Engineering & technological sciences (e.g., chemical engineering, civil engineering).

  • Physical Sciences & Mathematics (e.g., mathematics)

  • Science Education

o Environmental science

  • You must have a bachelor's degree in environmental science, biology, chemistry, physics or other related fields.

  • Your GPA should be at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.

  • You must be Malaysian citizen or have permanent residency in Malaysia

o Food science

  • Food science is the study of the physical, chemical and biological properties of food.

  • Food science is the study of the chemical and biological transformations of food.

  • Food science is the study of the chemical, physical and biological properties of food.

o Medicine and pharmacy

The scholarship is open to all Malaysian students who applied to their master’s program by research (M.Sc) or a doctoral program (PhD) at the University of Malaya.

This scholarship will be awarded for a maximum period of two years for graduate studies, and three years for doctoral studies.

o Health sciences

The scholarship is open to all Malaysian students who applied to their master’s program by research (M.Sc) or a doctoral program (PhD) at the University of Malaya. The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of good academic achievement, commitment to pursue a career in health sciences and active participation in community service activities.

o Life sciences

In this section, you'll learn about the life sciences. Life sciences can be a great major for college students who are interested in the field of biology and its related disciplines, such as genetics and biochemistry. Whether you want to go into medical school, graduate school or simply plan on working in an allied health care field like nursing or physical therapy, studying life sciences is a great way to prepare yourself for your future career path.

Life Sciences: What Is It?

The study of living organisms is called biology, which includes all scientific approaches from molecular genetics through ecology. A person whose job involves studying how living organisms function is known as a biologist (or "biologist"). The study of plants and other non-animal life forms is called botany (botanist). The study of animals—including humans—is zoology (zoologist). When people talk about “the biological sciences” they usually mean all these things plus medicine and veterinary science [5].

Students who apply for the scholarship must:

  • Be a citizen of Malaysia.

  • Have been accepted into the University of Malaya's graduate program in science education.

o The Scholarship will be awarded to students who have applied for admission into their master's program by research (M.Sc) or doctoral program (PhD) at the University of Malaya before September 30, 2019.

So, that’s the end of our academic journey. To be honest, it was not easy for us to write this blog post. We had a lot of fun writing it and learned a lot about each other through this process as well as our own personal struggles with mental health issues.
